@ZoeHarcombe you know? I’ve always hated vegetarian people because they always tried to force their life style on me, and if I said no they would start treating me a a murderer or an ignorant
    I totally agree with you

I couldn’t disagree more – no one should push personal values on anyone else. A nutritionist should say what the most nutritious foods are (and they are meat & fish, especially liver & sardines) – regardless of what they personally eat. As a result of studying nutrition in such depth, about a yr ago I stopped being a vegetarian (after c. 15 yrs). This won’t affect the health & weight advice I give either – the facts are the facts regardless of what I eat. Best wishes – Zoe

Isn’t it a shame for a vegetarian to promote meat and fish (among other things, I know)! Pardon, Zoe, but you’re not much of a vegetarian to me.

V good question! Home prepared (WAFP kind of standards) lacto fermented foods would likely be helpful in the fight against Candida. Any processed sauerkraut is in the processed food/to be avoided category.

  • mokugin81 said,

Very helpful video, thanks Zoe. One question: I’ve heard you say candida loves pickled foods; but how about lacto-fermented foods? I’m wondering if foodstuffs like kimchi, kefir, sauerkraut etc – provided they’re lacto-fermented with no added sugar – would actually be beneficial in the same way as live yogurt?

@Lavalinda26 Why do u advice not to add fats to vegetables? They do Taste Much better with some fat or cheese and also minerals and vitamins in them they get absorbed butter.. Low Fat eating is not they way to go!! Low carb is the way!!

  • Lavalinda26 said,

@MELODYrandomTV Melody, try eating a large portion of vegetables at lunch and dinner. Don’t add butter or other fat, and eat them before your other foods, then stop when you first feel full. This works for me. Making this change alone, I’ve lost 17 pounds in two months, without exercise. Even better, I feel fantastic!

Wow! Thanks for the great ideas. I think they will go very well with the program I’m using through the reallifeforhealth website. Their system is really easy to use and it does everything. They have 1000′s of different recipes to choose from and they help you build a fitness and nutrition plan that suits your goals. I’m happy that there’s no fad diets, pills, or required supplements. I’m really impressed with it, especially since they offer a free trial.

Wow – how lovely of you to take the trouble to share this – much appreciated :-)
I was veggie when I wrote the book – and for over 10 years before – so I had never even tried Atkins! My passion is real food above low carb x

  • zircon556 said,

Zoe your approach is quite sensible and I would probably have used it if I had found it earlier :D Apologies for the sidetrack in my previous post. Just tired of misinformation about Atkins :(

  • zircon556 said,

@mokugin81 Actually that is only phase one of Atkins. During which you can eat pretty much unlimited veges and most salads. At no time have I had cravings on Atkins after the initial switch from carb fuel to fat fuel. Apart from the rice and yoghurt. Phase one of Atkins and phase one of this diet are pretty similar. Exercising also make s huge difference to weight loss. I walk 1/2 hour a day and no longer have a problem with my weight. I also follow Atkins.
